industrial controllers
Industrial controller development: architecture before implementation
A custom controller should start from equipment behavior, I/O, interfaces and safe states — not from a processor or a preferred software stack.
Define ownership of control functions
Decide what belongs in the central controller, drives, smart sensors, HMI and supervisory software.
Specify I/O and failure behavior
Signal levels, timing, diagnostics and safe-state behavior make the electronics testable.
Choose MCU or MPU from workload
Simple deterministic control may favor an MCU; networking, storage and rich UI may justify Embedded Linux.
Validate on equipment scenarios
Normal operation is only half the test plan. Faults, communication loss and recovery need explicit scenarios.
Need this applied to a real product? E-Onics can take the engineering work from analysis through implementation and verification.
